Hey. It's not easy making it in the "Music Biz" nowadays. You need every advantage you can get, whether it's an original sound, amazing voice, talent or even a treadmill. I think it's pretty amazing how Ok Go have saved their career with diy videos, a little creativity and YouTube. In fact, the only reason I have any interest in the VMAs tonight is to see them do there little song and dance live. Let's just hope there's not some type of treadmill malfunction...although that would make some pretty good TV. The boys in the band cornered JC Chasez in the bathroom to get some tips for their performance tonight. You can check it out on the Tube of You. The Return of the Lemonheads
Yeah, I'm excited for this. I know a lot of you are asking yourself "who really cares about the Lemonheads?" Well, children, people over 30 do. While I am not quite there yet, I am a fan as they were a big part of my high school music experience. As a matter of fact I think I listened to It's A Shame About Ray 47 times in a row...it was a girl's fault. Sigh. In any case the band will release their first record in 10 years on September 26th on Vagrant Records. Until then you can stream some songs over on Vagrant site. The new lineup for the band, who will tour in support of the new record, is the ever present Evan Dando and two members from the Descendants. Sounds about right. There's just something really comforting about Dando's voice...maybe it's because he sounds the opposite of "twee." Or could it be I am being nostalgic? Never! Die emo words, die!
