The 2006 SXSW Music showcases have been announced, and wow, that is a lot of music. LiquidGeneration will be at the festival this year chatting with bands, filming stuff and generally causing trouble. If you're going to be at the festival, e-mail me and I'll let you know where we're going to be...that way you can buy me a beer, see?
So I started to sort through all the bands, but have only made it through Wednesday so far...which is generally the worst day of the festival in terms of bands. However, there are a couple of good ones that I want to share with you. I'll get Thursday, Friday and Saturday up in the next couple of weeks. For now give these tracks a whirl:
Switches - Every Second Counts.mp3: New Brits. Check out their MySpace page.
Goldenboy - Summertime.mp3: Elliott smith prodigy. His Site.
Colored Shadows - Life_After Love.mp3: Los Angeles based atmospheric-ish rock. Their site.
Great Northern - The Middle.mp3: Kind of poor production but wanted to post as it sounds exactly like a SFA song. Their Site.
Owen - Shes a Thief.mp3: New project from Chicago's Mike Kinsella's. Site.
Peachcake - Stop Acting Like You Know More About The Internet Cafe Than Me.mp3: Do we need another Postal Service? Perhaps... Their Site.
Awesome Cool Dudes - Rainbow Cattle Company.mp3: Good times dance party. Their Site.
