My apologies to all for the lack of posts the last couple of days.  Not only did I have to move my entire life across the country, but my 1 month old notebook completely fried on Saturday.  I am now posting froma public computer in what I think is a hotel, but am confused as to why a bunch of not-so-good-looking scantily clad women keep walking in and out.  In any case, I hope to be fully operational later this week and will definitely have a bunch of goodies for you then.  In the mean time, watch this and shut-up.  Oh, Slippy, I hate you and your creepy infatuation with Cor-gon!

YESTERDAY'S NEWS

It's crazy how out of touch one feels when they don't get to use a computer for one day.  I mean it's not like that much could happen in a little over 24 hours, right?  Bands didn't break up; there's not a new video from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs; and Kid Rock didn't pretend he actually cares if the world sees some skank gagging on his, err, manhood.

I missed you internet...I really did.  Check back tomorrow for an interview with the Lashes.

MOVING IS A BITCH!

As I'm sure many of you devoted LiquidGeneration users know by now, we are picking up and moving the LG Empire to Los Angeles this week.  If you didn't know this, well, then you seriously need to re-evaluate your priorities.  In any case, things are a bit crazy in these here parts so posts are going to come slow and sporadic for the next week and a half.  I know this is hard to stomach, but I promise that it'll be worth it!  Seeing as I am high from the smell of packing tape and cleaning products, the only thing I could come up with for you today was a nice little playlist of songs about California...I know, so cliche. NEW RELEASES - 02.21.06

Insane week for new music...there's really too much good stuff to recommend, so I'll just tell you what you have to buy.  If you haven't already heard it, check out the US Release of the deservedly super-hyped Arctic Monkeys debut record.  Also buy a copy of the M's debut on Polyvinyl, Future Women.  Both of these records are two of the best so far in 2006.  Also look into the new B. Fleischmann record, the latest from Destroyer, the first record from Coldcut in a long time and the Two Gallants debut.  I will try and get some MP3s of new stuff up later this week.  Enjoy!

LiquidGeneration Interview: The Subways

This week the LiquidGeneration e-mail interview went across the internet (how does that work anyway, pipes?) all the way to the United Kingdom!  The first Brits brave enough to answer our stupefying questions were The Subways.  They are a trio from the London suburb of Welwyn and have already taken their native country by storm.  Charlotte (bass) and Billy (guitar/vocals) from the band shared their thoughts with us and we learned a great many things from their answers. However, we have a feeling they, or perhaps British folk in general, might not get our extremely smart and sophisticated brand of humor. They are quite young though so maybe it's asking a bit much to expect them to kick out the jams and make us chuckle.  In any case, someone get Charlotte a fake ID already!

LIQUIDGENERATION: If you could fight any celebrity past or present who would it be and why? And the follow-up: If you could party with any celebrity past or present who would it be and why?

Charlotte: I would like to party with The Foo Fighters, I think that would make for a pretty good night.

Billy: For me the fight would have to be with Charlotte. She seems nice enough but she’s really a toughie. I’d love to bring Hendrix back and have a night of debauchery with him. That could turn out interesting.

LG: What’s the last record you bought borrowed or stole?

Billy: “Come Down” by Dandy Warhols. I felt it was a must after seeing the documentary with them in it called Dig.

Charlotte: The last record I got was Confessions on a Dancefloor by Madonna. It is awesome, such an amazing collection of dance-pop songs.

SXSW MUSIC: WEDNESDAY

The 2006 SXSW Music showcases have been announced, and wow, that is a lot of music.  LiquidGeneration will be at the festival this year chatting with bands, filming stuff and generally causing trouble.  If you're going to be at the festival, e-mail me and I'll let you know where we're going to be...that way you can buy me a beer, see?

So I started to sort through all the bands, but have only made it through Wednesday so far...which is generally the worst day of the festival in terms of bands.  However, there are a couple of good ones that I want to share with you.  I'll get Thursday, Friday and Saturday up in the next couple of weeks.  For now give these tracks a whirl:

WOLFMOTHER LIVE!

Too much Rock.  Words hard to write.  Must sleep.

Wolfmother were all I hoped they'd be and more.  If they don't achieve some level of success here in the States, then I will quit music.  Seriously.  They tour as a trio but sound like an army..."fuzz pedals" really do work.  Whenever singer/guitarist Andrew Stockdale started in on a song, you could feel the audience grinning...not because his Ozzy Osborne meets Robert Plant vocals were funny, but because they were that good.  There is something undeniably refreshing about seeing three dudes just playing rock songs without any gimmicks or contrived antics.  Hands down the best show I've seen so far in 2006.  For more info. on the band check out the LG e-mail interview we did with them.

Oh, keys and bass man Chris Ross plays the sh*t out of his organ.  I think he might have hurt it...

SCOTT STAPP & KID ROCK SEX TAPE!

UPDATE: THE TAPE IS REVEALED!!! I think it speaks for itself...

This just in to the LG offices.  US Weekly reports that a sex tape involving Scott Stapp and Kid Rock is about to hit the internet.  Apparently the tape shows both of them getting it on with some ladies with obvious self-esteem issues, but thankfully there is no hot man-on-man action between Kid and Stapp.  I am afraid to even search for images, as they might scar me for life.  I swear Scott Stapp is in the news more now then he ever was when he was in Creed.  I am glad he has forsaken Jesus and found booze...he's a lot funnier this way.
